Description

In the New York Times bestselling sequel to One Dark Window, Elspeth must confront the weight of her actions as she and Ravyn embark on a perilous quest to save the kingdom—perfect for readers of Hannah Whitten's For the Wolf and Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching.

Gripped by a tyrant king and in the thrall of dark magic, the kingdom is in peril. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last—and most important—one remains to be found: the Twin Alders. If they’re going to find the card before Solstice and set free the kingdom, they will need to journey through the dangerous mist-cloaked forest. The only one who can lead them through is the monster that shares Elspeth’s head: the Nightmare.

And he’s not eager to share any longer.

Praise for One Dark Window:

"Enthralling from beginning to shocking end." —Hannah Whitten, New York Times bestselling author of For the Wolf

"Pulse pounding, darkly whimsical, and aglow with treacherous magic." —Allison Saft, New York Times bestselling author of A Far Wilder Magic

utterly amazing. Such a unique fantasy. The sexual tension, the suspense, the poetry of it al! This book really came full circle to the first one but I have to tell you that the second one is so much better than the first and the first was really really good!! I’m so glad I decided to give this dual a chance. I already wish that I could erase my memory and reread them again.

The first one and this one is just amazing! I couldn’t stop reading it.
  • I would rate this five stars but I paid ten dollars and the ebook is only four chapters.

It’s fixed now yay, rating it five stars prematurely because I loved the first one and I’m already invested

I was beyond excited for this book after the first one. Although it did start a little slow for me and getting back into the world was hard due to the last book leaving off on a cliffhanger and this book starting off with a slower pace. With that being said, after reading a little further, I thoroughly enjoyed what the author did with the ending of this book. She threw in a some great “wow” moments and I truly felt a connection to the characters and cared about their endings. I really loved the way she concluded this series and her creative mind was refreshing to read.
  • I enjoyed every page

The perfect sequel. I finished it in less than 2 days. Rachel is a fantastic author.. it was so easy to imagine all that she wrote & it didn’t feel ridiculous or silly. The book didn’t feel rushed, slow-paced/boring & didn’t leave things unanswered. Finishing books that are so well written always leave me feeling sad that the world that exists within them is gone. Such a great job.
  • 10 out of 5 stars, nothing will top this duology

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would, and rightfully deserved. This duology has become my favorite series ever. This book wasted no time leaping off the first. None of the annoying “first 20 chapters summarizing the previous book”. This book is lush and dark and twisted and emotional. I found myself so attached to these characters. This book is a triple 3rd person POV. Following 3 main characters. Which was done beautifully. This book will hold a special place in my heart. Thank you Rachel Gillig
