Silly Story

Maybe I'm just not used to it, but I thought that the story was a little far-fetched and patched toghether. The book turns around completely about half-way through: the matter of the "land that time forgot" has nothing to do with the sailors—might as well be two different books.
I liked the beginning

Once they got into the hidden island I had a hard time wanting to continue, the beginning made a better store

A great book which captures the numerous adventures of people who were lost at sea , leading them to a world of the Stone Age era and early primates beyond human civilization . It portrays instances of love , loyalty, betrayal , adaptation and survival.

Fantastic adventure with a humane touch
Fun idea but silly things sprinkled in

The use of jujitsu to quickly kill two of three men that were holding the protagonist down just seemed so silly. 65% of the book was frustratingly on a submarine, rather than in “The Land That Time Forgot”. Some silly things can justifiably be boiled down to what science simply had wrong at the time, but there’s just too much other silliness that makes what could have been a fine grounded and fun story just… silly. The protagonist learns a whole language in less than 3 months. Come on.
However, the general idea is good and if some things are to be ignored, it’s an okay read. Hopefully the other 2 books redeem some of the child like idealisms that bring this one down to 3 stars for me.
Brits, Germans, Americans, and only 1 submarine between them all

Full of twists and mysteries, this recounts the adventures of waring parties on an island filled with ancient creatures.

I enjoyed tagging along the journey of the two main characters. They enter into a dangerous world and they make the most of their situation.
