Started off decent but then got too cheesy for me. I had to force myself to get through it.

This story takes you on a journey of Italian love! This is an author who will pick you up and hold you until the final word. Definitely recommend!

There’s no complexity, not one word I needed to lookup, boring dialogue, lifeless plot.
  • Cute love story

Difficult to read through some parts.
  • Little more than a well-written Harlequin Romance

The author creates a strong, creative, smart woman and then has this woman make the most ridiculous, weak-willed, give-up-everything-for-some-guy-you-met-for-five-minutes-a-hundred-years-ago, googly-eyed pre-teen girl decisions about her life. Made me want to throw my iPad across the room. If you like stories in which strong women give up everything to be with a poor guy because he's a hunk, then you'll like this book.

I loved this book!! I have not read any of Adriana Trigiani’s books before but I am lookig forward to reading more. The Italian scenery she describes is beautiful and vivid, and the characters I fell in love with. Truely an all time favorite for me.

A superb tapestry of Italian family heritage woven into the fabric of immigrant adjustment to life in America... the blend of historical and cultural detail in the lives of this fictional family held me spellbound! I just wish I could have read beyond the last page to know how Enza's return to Italy turned out!

A book about entire lifetimes. Thank you for after endearing the characters to me for then going beyond "they fall in love and get married". Also a heart warming book filled with history and real love.

Sappy and formulaic....it hooks you but then drags on relentlessly for another 400 pages.
