This was an all-around incredible find, as I had otherwise had a surprisingly difficult time finding all twelve tablets of the world’s oldest literary masterpiece in the same translation in one free publication. The graphics were beautiful and although the slideshow-like format was somewhat difficult to navigate if you’re used to the standard text arrangement of Apple Books. But talk about a cliffhanger: Tablet XII ends suddenly on page 97, not just mid-sentence, but in the middle of a word. When a book ends in “no-“ it’s a pretty big bummer to say the least. I’d like to think maybe somehow the rest is erased from the tablet or something but why would that word have even started and why wouldn’t there be some sort of note as to what happened to that part of the text like earlier in the poem?
