Denis puts some of the abuses Puerto Ricans have experienced at the hands of the US and outlines how Puerto Ricans, like Native Americans, are still on borrowed time on their island. The American colonial experiment in Puerto Rico did not end with Denis’ retelling, but you can see how this origin story has bled into so much of what’s happened on the island since.

An eye opening book that everyone should read.

Disturbing content that is certainly not taught in schools or acknowledged in public. A pattern continues.

This is a must read and should be part of the curriculum in the high schools on the island. Wishful thinking. Who wants to read facts.....

If you have any connection to Puerto Rico, this is worth reading. Filled with facts, references, sources, dates, hard numbers, historical accounts, and truth.
